TAX AND SEWER COLLECTOR NEW OFFICE HOURS AS OF SEPTEMBER 1st, 2023.
Monday 8am-5pm.
Tuesday 8am-5pm.
Wednesday 8am-5pm.
Thursday 8am-5pm.
Friday 8am-5pm.
Effective 9/1/2023 there will no longer be extended hours on Tuesday. After normal business hours will be by appointment only.
Primary functions of the Tax/Sewer Collector’s office:
- Prepare tax and sewer bills.
- Maintains an accounting of all tax and sewer collections and enforces the collection of delinquent municipal charges through foreclosure of municipal tax liens and municipal tax sales.
- Collect all monies to be raised by taxation.
- Collect all monies due to sewer utility.
- Account for all receipts on any given day.
- Deposit all monies into an authorized depository to credit the appropriate account within 48 hours of receipt/payment.
- Prepare and furnish a detailed and true list of all delinquent taxpayers. as required by the governing body or NJSA 54:4.

Primary functions of the Tax Assessor’s office:
- The assessor’s responsibilities are governed by state law and monitored by the State Division of Taxation, the County Tax Board, and the County Tax Administrator.
- Value all property in the municipality for tax purposes.
- House legal documents concerning all real estate properties in the municipality.
- Qualify and process all tax deductions and tax exemptions that are offered by the state to residents as well as tax exempt organizations.
- Inspect and evaluate all farmland properties.
- Keep the tax and sewer billing records updated so the bills are routed to the proper destination.
- Keep the tax maps updated, adding subdivisions, lot line adjustments, new easements or other changes to the boundaries of the properties in the township.
- The assessor defends tax appeals to the County Tax Board and the State Tax Court.
- All new construction is inspected and valued for tax purposes, generating added assessment bills and increasing the total ratable value of the township.
- Assist mortgage companies, appraisers and attorneys with closing information, escrow allowances and real estate market data.
- Help other municipal departments with ownership information and property data.
- Process all 200-foot requests.
